How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    TAR E&I Engineer - Hull

    CCL Global are currently working with a leading chemical and petrochemical organisation who are seeking an experienced TAR E&I Engineer for an immediate contract opportunity. The successful applicant will support the planning and delivery of Electrical & Instrumentation activities during a major Turnaround (TAR)/shutdown within a high-hazard COMAH environment.

    Location: Hull

    Start Date: Immediate

    Contract: Outside IR35

    Key duties will include:

    * Planning, developing and implementing major TAR E&I activities.

    * Coordinating Electrical & Instrumentation activities throughout the turnaround/shutdown.

    * Supporting E&I maintenance, modifications and development within a chemical/petrochemical environment.

    * Managing E&I activities from design and implementation through to commissioning.

    * Working with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), LOPA and complex functional safety systems.

    * Coordinating contractors and ensuring E&I activities are delivered safely and efficiently.

    * Supporting TAR planning, scheduling, resource management and budgetary control.

    * Ensuring all activities comply with relevant COMAH, HSE and UK/European legal requirements.

    * Providing technical guidance and maintaining high standards of E&I working practices.

    * Supporting the successful delivery and close-out of major turnaround activities.

    Requirements:

    * Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.

    * Around 10+ years' experience within the chemical or petrochemical industry.

    * Proven experience working within a COMAH / high-hazard process plant environment.

    * Strong experience delivering major Turnarounds (TARs) and shutdowns.

    * Strong Electrical & Instrumentation / I&C maintenance experience.

    * Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), LOPA and functional safety.

    * Experience across E&I design, implementation and commissioning.

    * Proven experience planning and delivering major TAR I&C/E activities.

    * Strong contractor, planning and coordination experience.

    * CompEx 12 – Engineering Design of Ex Electrical & Instrumentation Installations.

    * Certified Functional Safety Engineer, ideally to BS EN 61511.

    * Strong communication, organisation and commercial awareness
