We are recruiting an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong aerospace manufacturing background to take responsibility for maintaining and supporting the Quality Management System (QMS) at site level.
This is a hands-on Quality Engineer position and does not include direct management responsibilities. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure quality standards, specifications and regulatory requirements are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain and support the site’s Quality Management System.
*
Ensure compliance with AS9100 and relevant aerospace quality standards.
*
Act as a key quality contact for customers.
*
Manage customer quality concerns and corrective actions.
*
Complete and support 8D investigations and root-cause analysis.
*
Review and maintain customer specifications and quality requirements.
*
Oversee calibration activities, gauges and measuring equipment.
*
Support internal and external quality audits.
*
Maintain accurate quality documentation and records.
*
Assist with FAIR documentation and First Article Inspection requirements.
*
Drive continuous improvement across quality processes.
Skills and Experience
*
Proven Quality Engineering experience within aerospace manufacturing.
*
Strong working knowledge of AS9100.
*
Confidence maintaining and working with Quality Management Systems.
*
Experience managing customer quality issues and communication.
*
Knowledge of 8D problem-solving and corrective-action processes.
*
Experience with calibration systems, gauges and measuring equipment.
*
Ability to interpret engineering specifications and quality requirements.
*
FAIR experience would be advantageous, although further training can be provided.
*
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
Working Hours and Benefits
*
Four-day working week: Monday to Thursday, 06:45–16:30.
*
37-hour working week.
*
Holiday entitlement: 16 days’ annual leave based on a four-day working week (equivalent to 20 days for a five-day working pattern), plus bank holidays and an additional 3–4 days’ paid leave during the Christmas closure period. This provides an overall holiday allowance equivalent to approximately 23–24 days, plus bank holidays.
