How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are seeking an experienced Windows Engineer to join a Digital Excellence function providing critical IT services across highly secure environments. Due to the restricted nature of the network and the requirements of the project, candidates must hold active Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.

    The Role

As a Windows Engineer, you will provide operational BAU support, administration, configuration and technical expertise across Infrastructure and Workplace Windows environments within Restricted Secret and above networks.

You will operate as a Tier 2 / Tier 3 technical resource, supporting incident resolution, maintenance, patching, monitoring and continuous improvement while ensuring services remain secure, resilient, and compliant.

    Key Responsibilities

Provide BAU operational support, administration and configuration management across Windows Infrastructure and Workplace environments.

Plan and coordinate Windows maintenance and patching activities with minimal disruption to operations.

Implement approved changes across restricted Windows environments.

Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 support for Windows-related incidents, including investigation, remediation and incident response.

Troubleshoot and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs, escalating where appropriate.

Support high-severity incident management and coordinate with Incident and Technical Managers.

Identify recurring issues and underlying root causes, contributing to long-term solutions.

Conduct root cause analysis and participate in lessons-learned and continuous improvement activities.

Maintain accurate asset registers, inventory information and technical documentation.

Create and maintain technical knowledge articles, standard fixes and problem-resolution documentation.

Support monitoring and alerting across Restricted Secret and above networks, responding proactively to alerts and health-based remediation requirements.

Monitor and optimise server/network performance, security and backup environments.

Ensure compliance with security guidance, technical standards and adopted security postures.

Work with third-party service providers on troubleshooting, technical support and network management.

Provide technical guidance to suppliers and contribute to service meetings and cross-functional initiatives.

Maintain current knowledge of Windows technologies, products, practices and industry trends.

    Essential Skills & Experience

Active DV security clearance – essential due to the nature of the project.

Proven experience as a Windows Engineer, ideally with a broad generalist background across both Infrastructure and Workplace environments.

    Strong hands-on experience with:

    Windows Server

    Windows OS and Desktop Applications

Active Directory (AD) and Access Management

    Virtualisation platforms, including VDI

    Storage solutions

    Windows infrastructure and workplace technologies

    Good understanding of networking principles.

Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience supporting secure or highly restricted IT environments.

Strong understanding of incident, change and problem management processes.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams, service managers and third-party suppliers.

    Important Information

This is a 100% site-based position due to the nature and security requirements of the network. Candidates must already hold active DV clearance to be considered for the role.

If you are an experienced Windows Engineer with active DV clearance and strong hands-on infrastructure and workplace expertise, we would be keen to hear from you
