How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Motor Claims Handler | Bolton | £24,479 – £26,000 | Full or part-time | Mon–Fri

Got some motor claims under your belt and want to move up into third party and liability work?

We're recruiting a Motor Claims Handler for an established general insurer just outside Bolton. You'll handle motor claims — vehicle and property damage — and be developed into the third party and credit hire side, with funded qualifications and someone senior alongside you while you learn the liability arguments.

This is a motor claims handler role built for someone on the way up. If you've done FNOL or accidental damage and you want the technical work rather than another volume queue, this is the step.

    What you'll be doing

Handling third party vehicle and property damage claims through to resolution
Investigating liability — learning to build and argue a position properly
Working towards the more advanced files: high-value claims and disputed liability
Getting to grips with credit hire: validation, negotiation, challenging excessive charges
Speaking with solicitors, insurers and accident management companies
Spotting and escalating anything that looks fraudulent
Managing your own caseload and supporting the wider team
    What you'll need

Some motor claims or insurance claims experience — FNOL, accidental damage, or similar
Appetite for the technical side: liability, negotiation, investigation
Confident telephone manner and genuine attention to detail
Organised and comfortable across multiple systems
GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
Willing to work towards the CII Certificate (fully supported and funded)
    What's on offer

£24,479 – £26,000 depending on experience, with room to grow as you take on third party work
35-hour week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm — and genuinely flexible working patterns
    Full-time or part-time considered
On site in Bolton with free on-site parking
Full support and funding towards CII qualifications
Holiday allowance that increases with service, plus a holiday sell scheme
Your birthday off, and a half-day for seasonal shopping
Contributory pension, cycle to work scheme, discounted sports and social
Cash bonus for going above and beyond
    Casual dress, free branded clothing
Trained mental health and first-aid staff on site
    The honest bit

You'll be learning on live files, and third party liability work takes time to get good at — the first few months are a stretch. It's on site in Bolton five days a week. What you get for it is a funded CII route and a genuine technical career rather than a queue.

Apply now and we'll come back to you to talk it through properly
