How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (approx. £673–£769 per week) + Performance Bonus + Travel Allowance

Are you a technically skilled telecoms or datacoms engineer who also loves designing innovative solutions but doesn’t want to be stuck onsite or behind a desk all day? This unique role offers the perfect blend of hands-on design, prototyping, and client-facing engagement. Join a dynamic team where your expertise will directly impact manufacturing success and customer satisfaction.

Have you worked for companies like DataNet Group, Tekhs, or Data Cabling Installations? Then this could be the perfect role for you!

    What We Offer:

    * Competitive salary plus performance-related bonus scheme

    * Travel allowance and full expenses covered for regional visits

    * Opportunities for ongoing technical training and career progression

    * A collaborative and agile manufacturing environment

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Support sales with regional client visits to assess project needs and provide expert technical advice

    * Deliver real-time design-for-manufacture solutions during client meetings

    * Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings (training provided)

    * Review customer designs to optimise for production efficiency and cost

    * Oversee prototyping and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes alongside production teams

    * Produce detailed technical documentation for manufacturing and quality control

    Requirements:

    * Engineering background (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent practical experience)

    * 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD (training provided)

    * Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material characteristics

    * Excellent communication skills tailored to technical and customer-facing situations

    * Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally

    * Very presentable, this is both an internal and externally facing role

If you’re ready to take your engineering career to the next level, apply now or contact us for more information!
