How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hours: 37.5 hours per week

    About the Company
    Our client is an established and growing Hard Facilities Management (FM) provider, delivering specialist engineering and maintenance services across Yorkshire, the Northwest and wider UK.
    Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their mobile engineering team.
    This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer looking for a varied role where no two days are necessarily the same, working across a diverse range of commercial and public-sector sites.
    You will be responsible for planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding, repairs, installations and compliance works, while providing a professional service to customers.

    The Role
    As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality planned, preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across a variety of customer sites.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    * Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance
    * Completing PPM, reactive repairs and installation works
    * Fault finding and repairs across a range of electrical equipment and systems
    * Electrical testing and inspection in line with relevant legislation and specifications
    * Working on systems including:
    * Lighting systems
    * Electrical distribution boards and associated circuits
    * Fire and intruder alarm systems
    * Pumps, motors and control systems
    * Building Management Systems (BMS)
    * PAT testing
    * HVAC systems
    * EV systems
    Responding promptly to reactive call-outs from the Helpdesk
    Participating in an on-call rota
    Providing quotes for installation and repair works, including materials and labour requirements
    Identifying non-repairable issues and providing recommendations to the Contract Manager
    Updating and maintaining accurate records on the CAFM system
    Working in accordance with SLAs, health & safety procedures and site regulations
    Travelling to various customer locations as required
    Maintaining a professional, customer-focused approach at all times
    We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer who is confident working independently and enjoys the variety that a mobile FM role can offer.
    You will ideally have:
    NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification
    AM2
    City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing
    Previous experience in electrical maintenance and installation
    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
    Experience maintaining and repairing a range of electrical systems and equipment
    The ability to work independently and use your own initiative
    Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
    Good written and verbal communication skills
    Good IT/PC skills
    A full UK driving licence
    A strong customer-service focus
