How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary from £33,931 per annum + Up to 5% Bonus 

    Permanent, 40 Hours Per Week

    Hybrid Working – Based at our Thorp Park, Leeds office 

    Help shape the financial decisions that support the future of our network.

    As a Regulatory Finance Analyst, you'll be part of the team responsible for helping NGN navigate the financial frameworks that underpin the energy industry. Working closely with internal colleagues, Ofgem and other industry stakeholders, you'll provide the analysis and insight that supports business planning and decision-making.

    You'll take an active role in Ofgem price reviews, working on financial modelling, scenario analysis and impact assessments to ensure we continue to deliver value for customers and investors.     In this role you will:

    Support the development of regulatory finance submissions, including contributions to NGN business plans and consultation responses.

    Develop and maintain financial models, focusing on revenue calculation and financeability analysis.

    Carry out scenario analysis, impact assessments and other quantitative analysis.

    Help assess the financial impact of regulatory and industry changes on NGN.

    Support regulatory reporting, management information and performance analysis.

    Develop expertise in regulatory finance and price control frameworks to support colleagues across the business.

    Participate in industry working groups and engage with external stakeholders when required.

    Provide analytical and administrative support to the Regulatory Finance team.

    We are looking for:

    A degree in Finance, Economics or Business.

    Strong Excel skills and experience working with large financial models.

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.

    High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

    Experience analysing data and producing reports.

    Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Word.

    An interest in regulation, finance and the energy sector.

    Desirable

    Knowledge of CAPM, asset valuation and credit quality assessment principles.

    Understanding of UK network regulation and RAV-based regulatory frameworks.

    Experience working within a regulated industry environment.
