How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

If you've reached the point in practice where you want to spend less time preparing accounts and more time advising clients, leading people and building relationships, this Partner track opportunity could be a very worthwhile move.

As Client Manager, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and become someone clients genuinely turn to for advice. There's an established team of accounts staff handling much of the day-to-day preparation, giving you more time to review, solve complex issues and have meaningful conversations with business leaders about their businesses and personal tax positions.

Perhaps you're already a Client Manager / Senior Accountant looking for greater flexibility and longer-term progression. Or you're an Accounts Senior or Assistant Manager who knows you're ready for that next step. Either way, there's scope to build a career all the way through to Partner, while working within a practice where flexibility and life outside work are genuinely valued.

The people already working there talk about genuinely enjoying coming to work. They describe a friendly, cooperative team, senior leaders who support them professionally and personally, and flexibility that allows them to fit work around families, hobbies and commitments outside the office. One employee even describes it as the best accountancy practice they've worked for. That says rather more about the culture than another list of corporate values ever could.

    Role Overview

Manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses across sectors including SaaS technology, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare and consultancy
Build trusted relationships, providing proactive accounting, business and personal tax advice
Oversee and support a team of accounts staff, reviewing work and assisting with more complex assignments
Manage year-end accounts, corporation tax, management accounts and associated deadlines
Advise business owners on practical tax planning, including tax-efficient ways of extracting profits
Get involved in wider assignments such as R&D tax claims, with specialist colleagues available for higher-level tax matters.
    The Ideal Candidate

Strong experience within an accountancy practice, whether as a Client Manager, Senior Accountant, Assistant Manager or experienced Senior level
Ideally qualified ACCA, ACA or equivalent
Comfortable managing client relationships and having advisory conversations with business owners
Good working knowledge of tax as well as accounts for owner-managed businesses
Able to review work, support colleagues and confidently handle more complex matters
Familiarity with accounting software packages such as TaxCalc, Xero, QuickBooks etc.
    What's on Offer

    Hybrid working.
Clear career progression, including a route through to Partner for the right person.
Genuine flexibility around family and personal commitments.
A supportive, friendly environment where people are trusted and encouraged to develop.
Greater opportunity to focus on portfolio relationship management and advisory work.
    Parking pass provided.
Personal development opportunities and a culture that values life outside work.
