How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Opportunity

    Ford & Stanley Talentwise are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team supporting two of London's most exciting visitor attractions, The London Dungeon and Shrek's Adventure! London.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to work behind the scenes at world renowned entertainment venues, maintaining a diverse range of equipment including animatronics, themed sets, special effects, ride systems, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, electrical systems, lighting, audio visual equipment, and associated mechanical assets.

    As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring all attractions operate safely, reliably and to the highest standard. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and reactive repairs across a variety of mechanical, electrical and control systems, helping to minimise downtime and maximise the guest experience.

    No two days are the same in this fast paced and unique environment, making it an ideal role for an experienced technician who enjoys variety and problem solving.

    Shifts

    Working a rotating shift pattern of:

    2 Weeks Earlies: 07:30 – 15:30
    2 Weeks Lates: 13:00 – 21:00
    This role includes weekend and bank holiday working as required by the operation.

    Role & Responsibilities

    The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical, electrical and themed attraction systems remain safe, reliable and fully operational for guests.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities across rides, animatronics, special effects equipment and attraction infrastructure.
    Diagnosing and rectifying faults on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems.
    Supporting the upkeep and reliability of themed sets, props and guest facing assets.
    Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
    Completing reactive repairs in a timely manner to minimise attraction downtime.
    Using diagnostic tools and test equipment to identify root causes of equipment failures.
    Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health, safety and operational standards.
    Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset performance and reliability.

    The Candidate

    We are seeking an experienced maintenance professional with a strong mechanical background and a good understanding of electrical systems, ideally gained within a fast paced maintenance environment.

    Candidates from sectors such as manufacturing, FMCG, rail, aviation, facilities maintenance, armed forces, marine, theme parks, attractions or complex engineering environments are encouraged to apply.

    Essential

    NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering discipline.
    Strong mechanical fault finding and maintenance experience.
    Good working knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
    Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
    Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and technical drawings.
    Experience conducting root cause analysis and diagnostic fault finding.
    Competent in the use of diagnostic software, test equipment and measuring instruments.
    Strong focus on safety, reliability and attention to detail.
