How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Heavy Plant Engineer (Progression to Agricultural)

    Are you a Heavy Plant Engineer or similar looking to join a growing machinery dealership where you can work across workshop and field-based environments, while receiving manufacturer-specific training and the opportunity to progress into agricultural machinery?

    A well-established, family-run engineering and machinery business providing sales, servicing and repair solutions across Cheshire and surrounding regions. The business supports customers with a range of leading machinery brands, alongside specialist expertise in tractors, loaders and other heavy plant equipment.

    In this role, you will service, repair and maintain a range of heavy plant and agricultural machinery both in the workshop and at customer sites across Cheshire and the surrounding areas. You will diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults, carry out breakdown repairs and complete pre-delivery inspections, while receiving training to develop your agricultural machinery knowledge.

    This role would suit a Heavy Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter or similar with strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding experience, looking to develop their skill set and progress into the agricultural machinery sector.

    The Role:

    Service, repair and maintain heavy plant and agricultural machinery
    Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults and carry out effective repairs
    Attend customer sites to resolve machinery breakdowns across a regional patch
    Complete pre-delivery inspections on new machinery
    Receive manufacturer-specific training and develop agricultural machinery expertise

    The Person:

    Experience servicing and repairing heavy plant, agricultural or similar machinery
    Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills
    Full UK driving licence
