How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Technician (PLC Training)

£35,000 - £40,000 + OEM Manufacturer Training (USA) + Progression To Technical Expert + Early Friday Finish + 33 Days Holiday

Commutable from: Exeter, Tiverton, Taunton, Wellington, Cullompton, Honiton, Bridgwater, Chard, Bampton and surrounding areas

Are you an Electrical Controls Engineer looking to become a true controls specialist through OEM Manufacturer Training (USA), Progression To Technical Expert, an Early Friday Finish and 33 Days Holiday? Do you have an electrical engineering background and want to build long-term depth of skill in control systems, product development and troubleshooting?

This is a secure, permanent position with a well-established engineering manufacturer/supplier who genuinely invests in training and supports engineers who want to become technical experts. You'll join a close-knit team where development is built into the role rather than added as an afterthought.

You'll be part of an organisation established since 1984, supplying and developing machine tools and next-generation control systems. The work is varied and technically interesting, with opportunities to get involved in new control system projects and shape future products.

Working from their Tiverton site, you'll support electrical control system design, electrical drawings/documentation, testing/validation, and hands-on fault finding and troubleshooting across machine control systems (with training provided).

This role suits a technically-driven engineer who's motivated by training and becoming a recognised controls product expert (rather than chasing a purely routine maintenance role).

    The Role:
    * Electrical control system work: diagnostics, troubleshooting, documentation and support to new developments (site-based)
    * Working with OEM partners and internal teams to improve performance, reliability and product quality
    * 39 hours: 7:45-17:00 Mon-Thurs, 8:30-12:30 Friday (early finish)

    The Person:
    *Previous Electrical Experience
*Looking to get into a career in Controls Engineering

    Reference Number: BBBH(phone number removed)A
