How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate Executive – National Accounts

Bradford Head Office | Hybrid working, commutable from Halifax, Huddersfield, Leeds & surrounding areas
Official job title: National Accounts Executive

Want more from your first career move than simply having a graduate job?

We’re looking for a bright, ambitious graduate to join Driver Hire’s National Accounts team as a National Accounts Executive.

This is a varied commercial role where you’ll learn how national customer relationships really work – combining customer service, sales support, technology, data, problem-solving and business improvement.

You’ll work alongside experienced National Account Managers supporting some of Driver Hire’s largest customers, our nationwide office network and our customer technology platform, ClearCite.

We’re a sales team, so there is a commercial focus. But this isn’t a cold-calling sales role. It’s about understanding customers, delivering great service, building relationships and, as your experience develops, recognising opportunities to improve and grow the support we provide.

If you want to learn quickly, take real responsibility and build a broad commercial skill set, this is a great place to start.

    The Role

As a National Accounts Executive, you won’t spend your first year watching from the sidelines – but you will be expected to learn the fundamentals and get them right.

Initially, much of your role will involve supporting our National Account Managers and wider team: maintaining accurate customer and rate information, preparing reports, dealing with queries, learning our systems, supporting customer activity and making sure actions are followed through.

Some of that work is detailed and administrative. That matters.

It’s how you’ll learn how our customers operate, understand the processes behind successful national accounts and build the knowledge and credibility to take on more responsibility.

Alongside this, you’ll become closely involved with ClearCite, our customer-facing technology platform. You’ll learn how it works, help customers and Driver Hire offices use it effectively and work with colleagues across the business to investigate issues and find solutions.

No two days are quite the same. You might be checking data for a customer review, helping resolve an operational problem, supporting a technology query or working on a project to improve the way we do something.

As your knowledge, judgement and confidence develop, so will your customer contact and commercial responsibility.

Progression isn’t based simply on time served. We’re looking for someone ambitious, but equally someone prepared to put the work in to earn the next opportunity.

    What You’ll Be Doing

As a National Accounts Executive, you’ll be involved in:

    * Supporting National Account Managers with customer accounts, projects and commercial activity

    * Helping customers and our nationwide office network with queries in a friendly, professional way

    * Maintaining customer, rate and system information accurately

    * Supporting ClearCite and investigating system or process queries

    * Preparing reports, analysing data and spotting anything that doesn’t look right

    * Supporting customer reviews, presentations, proposals and internal updates

    * Following actions through to completion and keeping people informed

    * Monitoring customer activity and helping identify where additional support is needed

    * Looking for ways to improve processes, customer experience and team efficiency

    * Getting involved in wider National Accounts priorities when needed

    Who Are We Looking For?

We’re not looking for the finished article. We’re looking for potential.

As a National Accounts Executive, you’ll probably thrive here if you:

    * Are curious and ask good questions

    * Enjoy being busy and managing different priorities

    * Have excellent attention to detail

    * Take pride in getting things right, including the less glamorous tasks

    * Enjoy solving problems and figuring out how things work

    * Like talking to people and building relationships

    * Are confident enough to pick up the phone

    * Are interested in technology and data

    * Take ownership and see things through

    * Want to contribute ideas and improve how things are done

    * Enjoy being part of a close team where everyone gets stuck in and helps each other

    * Are ambitious, but understand that strong careers are built on strong foundations

You don’t need previous experience in recruitment, logistics or technology. We’ll teach you the industry, our customers and our systems.

What we can’t teach quite so easily is curiosity, enthusiasm, resilience and the desire to make things happen.

What Will You Get From It?

As a National Accounts Executive, you’ll build the foundations for a broad commercial career, gaining experience across customer relationships, sales support, technology, data analysis, project work and continuous improvement.

As you demonstrate that you can manage those foundations confidently and accurately, there will be opportunities to take on more customer contact, commercial activity and account responsibility.

You’ll join a supportive team where you’ll be encouraged to ask questions, contribute ideas and develop around your strengths.

We offer a competitive salary alongside pension, healthcare, generous holiday allowance and hybrid working.

If you’re looking for more than simply your first job – and want somewhere you can genuinely start building a career – we’d love to hear from you
