How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Finance Manager - £60,000 - £70,000 - High Tech Manufacturing - Bicester

    Working in partnership with the Financial Controller, you will support the delivery of accurate financial reporting across a high-end, high-tech manufacturing business.

    The role will have a broad remit across financial accounting, reporting, controls and business partnering, with the opportunity to work closely with both Finance and operational stakeholders.

    Responsibilities for the Finance Manager include:

    Support the month end and year end close process, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete and delivered within deadlines.
    Prepare and review financial journals, reconciliations and balance sheet information.
    Work closely with operational teams to understand financial performance and provide insightful analysis and commentary.
    Support the wider Finance team with analysis of actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
    Maintain strong financial controls and processes, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and reporting requirements.
    Support the development and continuous improvement of financial reporting processes, systems and controls.
    Work closely with the business to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial information used for management reporting.

    Profile

    It is essential the candidate is a Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA.
    Previous experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
    Strong technical accounting and analytical skills.
    Advanced Excel and reporting capability.
    Able to work closely with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.
