How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Business Development Manager – Construction Site Security

£40,000 basic salary + uncapped commission (OTE circa £52,000)

    Car or Car Allowance

United Kingdom – field-based with regular regional travel

    Company Overview

A growing national provider of CCTV, site security, access control and sustainable power solutions is expanding its field-sales team. The successful Business Development Manager will identify construction projects and vacant sites/property requiring security solutions to bring on new clients and develop a profitable regional territory.

The business supplies hire, managed-service and purchase solutions across construction, civil engineering and infrastructure. Its portfolio includes temporary CCTV, remote monitoring, access control, guarding, solar lighting and hybrid power equipment, supported by established operational and engineering teams.

    Job Overview

The Business Development Manager will take ownership of new-business development across an agreed territory, reporting to the UK Sales Manager. The role combines project research, site prospecting, customer meetings, quotations and account development.

Success will be measured through site activity, new contracts, repeat business and progression towards a monthly revenue target following the initial training period.

    Key Responsibilities

Research regional construction and infrastructure projects to identify sales opportunities.
Plan and complete targeted construction-site visits each week.
Generate new business through field prospecting, telephone outreach, networking and project intelligence.
Build relationships with Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and commercial decision-makers.
Identify site security, CCTV, access-control, lighting and temporary-power requirements.
Prepare accurate quotations and follow up consistently to maximise conversion.
Negotiate commercial terms and secure profitable new contracts.
Develop new customers into long-term clients that generate repeat business.
Maintain accurate CRM, pipeline, forecasting and sales-activity records.
    Person Specification

Previous experience in field sales, business development, territory sales or external sales.
Proven ability to generate new business independently rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
Experience selling into construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or other site-based customers is strongly preferred.
Candidates from CCTV, electronic security, access control, guarding, plant hire, equipment hire, temporary power, building products or construction supplies will be particularly relevant.
Comfortable approaching active sites and engaging Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Contracts Managers.
Strong prospecting, relationship-building, quotation follow-up and closing skills.
Commercially aware and numerically confident when preparing quotations and discussing pricing.
    Full UK driving licence.
    Benefits

    £40,000 basic salary.
Uncapped commission with realistic on target earnings of approximately £52,000.
    Company car or car allowance.
    Structured onboarding programme.
Ongoing sales coaching and monthly development meetings.
    Contributory workplace pension.
21 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing annually to 25 days.
Company laptop, mobile phone and required PPE.
Salary review opportunity based on sustained performance against target.
    Next Steps

Apply with an up-to-date CV for immediate consideration. Alternatively, contact John Nesbitt for a confidential discussion about the territory, commission structure and interview process.
