How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    MEP PACKAGE MANAGER
    HS2 Routewide Buildings | Site Delivery
    We are seeking an experienced MEP Package Manager to coordinate the delivery of mechanical and electrical works across a major HS2 buildings programme.
    The team is responsible for nine assets, comprising portal buildings, tunnel shafts and pumping-station buildings. Each structure incorporates complex MEP systems, including HV/LV distribution, ventilation, smoke control, communications, SCADA/BMS, fire systems, lighting, public health and lifts.
    The role:
    * Manage MEP packages through design, procurement, installation and handover
    * Coordinate specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners
    * Review technical submissions, drawings and material proposals
    * Manage interfaces between MEP, structural, civil and architectural packages
    * Monitor subcontractor programmes and short-term construction activities
    * Identify procurement, design, installation and sequencing risks
    * Coordinate site access and dependencies between trades
    * Drive quality and compliance across MEP installations
    * Resolve technical queries, field changes and non-conformances
    * Support testing, commissioning and systems integration
    * Maintain communication with design, commercial and construction teams
    * Assist with completion records and handover documentation
    Candidate profile:
    * Experience managing mechanical and electrical construction packages
    * Background with a Tier 1 contractor, main builder or specialist MEP business
    * Strong subcontractor-management and site-delivery capabilities
    * Understanding of design coordination and procurement
    * Experience managing multidisciplinary interfaces
    * Knowledge of testing, commissioning and handover
    * NEC experience would be beneficial
    Direct HS2 or rail experience is not essential. This vacancy is particularly suitable for Package Managers from main build or building services who want to progress into major infrastructure, civils, railway construction and complex reinforced-concrete structures
