How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Full-Time | September 2026 Start | Long-Term Opportunity

    Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a motivated and caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school in Ipswich from September 2026.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping young people overcome barriers to learning and who wants to play an important role in supporting pupils with additional needs.

    About the Role

    Working as part of the school's wider support team, you will provide practical, academic and pastoral assistance to pupils who require additional support.

    You will be involved in:

    Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups

    Helping children engage with lessons and access the wider curriculum

    Providing encouragement and reassurance to pupils who may lack confidence

    Supporting pupils with their individual learning targets and support plans

    Helping children develop independence and positive learning habits

    Promoting appropriate behaviour and positive relationships

    Supporting pupils with social, emotional and communication needs

    Adapting activities and resources to suit individual learning requirements

    Liaising with teachers and the SENCO regarding pupil progress

    Creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment where every pupil can succeed

    What We're Looking For

    We are keen to hear from candidates who are empathetic, patient and proactive, with a genuine desire to help children and young people overcome challenges and reach their potential.

    Previous experience in an SEN setting would be beneficial, particularly experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties or complex learning needs.

    Relevant experience from education, care, youth work or support work will also be considered. The most important qualities are the ability to build trusting relationships, remain calm and adapt your approach to the needs of each individual pupil.
