How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role:

    C# Web Application Developer (FTC)

    Location:

    Nottingham City Centre

    Working Arrangement:

hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office per week

    Salary:

Up to £55k p.a. (pro rata’d for duration of contract)

    Contract:

3-month fixed term (strong likelihood it’ll turn in a permanent role)

    Key skills:

.NET, C#, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL Server, Azure, Azure DevOps, REST APIs, AI tooling (Claude & Codex)

You’re a developer who’s still building your experience, but you’re already asking yourself, “How could we do this better?”

You enjoy getting stuck into problems, learning new technologies, and seeing something you’ve built make a difference and being used.

You’ve got a strong grasp of .NET and C#, and are loving Angular and TypeScript; working across the full stack makes you happy- you love variety! Now you’re now looking for an opportunity where you can broaden your experience across Azure, APIs, databases, DevOps, and AI.

If that sounds like you, this could be a great opportunity to take your next step.

I’m working with a professional services organisation in Nottingham that is looking for an Application Developer to join its Business Services development team.

You’ll be working on a mixture of existing applications and new products, so your days won’t all look the same. One day you might be developing a new feature, the next you could be investigating a bug or helping support an existing application.

The important thing is that you’ll be involved in the full development process and will have plenty of opportunity to learn along the way, especially with using AI in your workflows and incorporating it into the products you’re building. They currently use Claude Code and Codex.

Technically, you’ll be working with .NET and C#, Angular, TypeScript and JavaScript, SQL Server, REST APIs and Azure. You must’ve worked with Angular in a production environment; personal experience isn’t enough for this role.

You’ll also get exposure to Azure services including App Services, Functions, Event Grid, Logic Apps and Cosmos DB, alongside Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll be encouraged to write clean, maintainable code, take part in code reviews and peer programming, build automated tests, and work closely with the wider team to understand requirements and turn them into useful software.

This is an Agile environment, so you’ll need to be comfortable working collaboratively, asking questions, challenging assumptions when something doesn’t make sense, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical people.

You’ll also need to be comfortable juggling different priorities. There will be new development to get stuck into, but there will also be existing systems that need maintaining and supporting.

You don’t need to know everything already, but you should be experienced and confident enough to be able to hit the ground running with some good support around you.

Experience with Azure Infrastructure as Code, Azure SQL, Elasticsearch, automated testing, finance systems or legal-sector applications would be useful, but they’re not required for the role.

The company also puts a real emphasis on wellbeing and flexible working. Once you’re settled into the role, you’ll generally be working from the office two to three days a week, with the initial period being office-based to help you get to know the team, systems, and environment.

You’ll also get birthday leave, a salary sacrifice pension, healthcare options, flexible working, a paid day for charitable work, discount vouchers and company away days.

If you’re looking for a role where you can develop your .NET and Azure skills, get hands-on with modern web development, explore AI, and work alongside people who will help you continue to grow, this could be a really interesting next step.

Apply now or get in touch to find out more.

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background
