How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    PANEL BEATER / PANEL TECHNICIAN

    Location: Bishop's Stortford
    Salary: OTE £70,000 (Basic Salary £50,000 - £60,000+ DOE)

    THE ROLE
    As a Panel Beater / Panel Technician, you'll be responsible for repairing accident-damaged vehicles to a high standard, ensuring all structural and cosmetic repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with manufacturer repair methods.

    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Assessing damaged vehicle panels and identifying the appropriate repair or replacement methods.
    ·Repairing, replacing, and refitting damaged body panels and structural components.
    ·Carrying out straightening, alignment, and structural repair work using appropriate specialist equipment.
    ·Restoring vehicles to manufacturer specifications while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
    ·Working closely with MET Technicians, Paint Technicians, and other workshop colleagues to maintain an efficient repair process.
    ·Carrying out quality checks to ensure completed repairs meet required standards.
    ·Managing allocated repairs effectively to meet agreed productivity and quality expectations.
    ·Maintaining tools, equipment, and the workshop area in a clean, safe, and professional condition.

    ABOUT YOU
    This opportunity would suit an experienced Panel Beater / Panel Technician / Vehicle Body Repair Technician / Body Repair Technician / Accident Repair Technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs.

    You'll ideally have:
    ·Previous experience as a Panel Beater or Panel Technician within a professional Bodyshop or accident repair environment.
    ·Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA), with ongoing commitment to continuous professional development.
    ·Strong knowledge of modern vehicle body repair techniques and manufacturer repair methods.
    ·Experience repairing and replacing damaged body and structural components.
    ·Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
    ·The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a skilled workshop team.
    ·A full UK driving licence.
