How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Ready for the next step in your children's residential care career?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a 4-bed Ofsted-rated Good children's home in Yarnton, near Oxford.
This could be an excellent opportunity if you are already working as a Senior Support Worker, or if you are an experienced Children's Residential Support Worker ready to take on more responsibility.
You'll be joining a large, established and growing children's residential care provider with excellent training, strong management support and a genuine progression pathway into Deputy Manager and Registered Manager positions.
    What you need
To be considered for this position, you will need:
    * At least 12 months' experience working with children and young people
    * A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare / Caring for Children and Young People
    * Experience or knowledge of therapeutic, child-centred approaches
    * Confidence supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
    * The ability to lead, support and guide other members of the residential team
    * Good written communication and record-keeping skills
    * The flexibility to work long-day shifts, weekends and sleep-ins
    * A full UK driving licence
    * The existing right to work in the UK as sponsorship is not available for this vacancy
    The home
You'll be working within a 4-bed children's residential home providing therapeutic support to children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The focus is on creating a safe, consistent and nurturing home where young people can build trust, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you'll have an important role both in directly supporting the young people and in helping the wider staff team deliver consistently high standards of care.
    What you will be doing
    Your responsibilities will include:
    * Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
    * Supporting daily routines, education, activities and independence
    * Providing consistent boundaries and therapeutic support
    * Leading shifts and supporting less experienced members of the team
    * Contributing to care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans
    * Maintaining accurate daily records and incident documentation
    * Supporting safeguarding and child protection procedures
    * Working closely with managers, social workers and other professionals
    * Helping create a safe, positive and homely environment
    What you'll receive
This is where I would really sell it:
    £16.25–£16.85 per hour
    Basic salary of £32,955–£34,171
    £62.64 per sleep-in
Typically 4–8 sleep-ins each month, adding approximately £3,000–£6,000 per year
Clear progression opportunities into Deputy Manager and Registered Manager roles
    Fully funded professional qualifications
    Paid training
    Comprehensive induction programme
Enhanced pay scales recognising qualifications and experience
    Regular supervision and supportive management
    Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
28 days' annual leave including Bank Holidays

    NEST pension
Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support
    Staff referral bonus
    Free Enhanced DBS check
    Why consider this opportunity?
If you're good at what you do but feel you've reached a ceiling with your current provider, this is worth a conversation.
This organisation is growing, invests heavily in training and development and offers a clear route for people who want to progress within children's residential care.
You don't need to be looking for a Registered Manager position tomorrow. You simply need to want somewhere that can give you the opportunity to develop when you're ready.
    Interested?
If you're currently working as a Senior Residential Support Worker, Senior Children's Support Worker, Residential Childcare Worker, Children's Residential Support Worker or Team Leader, I'd love to speak with you confidentially.
The home is in Yarnton, Oxfordshire, and may be suitable for candidates travelling from Oxford, Kidlington, Woodstock, Witney and surrounding areas.
Apply with your CV and I will be in touch to tell you more about the home, the team and the opportunity.
    Important information
This position does not offer sponsorship, so applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
Due to the regulated nature of children's residential care, the successful candidate will be subject to appropriate safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS, references, employment history, qualification, identity and Right to Work checks.
