How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As a Category Specialist you will be working in the Procurement & Supply Chain department, you'll play a key role in managing supplier relationships and sourcing strategies to ensure smooth operations. Based in Sheffield, you'll focus on delivering cost-effective solutions within the industrial and manufacturing sector.

    Client Details

    This role is with a company in the industrial and manufacturing sector, based in Sheffield! This will be working on a fixed term contract initially for at least a period of 12 months! This role will be working in a small team of 4, reporting into the team leader. This role offers hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office!

    Description

    As Category Specialist, duties will include, however, not be limited to:

    Manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance and compliance with agreements.
    Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal terms.
    Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and priorities.
    Monitor supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
    Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
    Prepare and present reports on category performance and cost management initiatives.Profile

    As Category Specialist, you should have:

    Prior experience working within Procurement.
    Confident managing suppliers & a variety of contracts.
    Be able to work on a Fixed Term Contract Basis starting Immediately.

    Job Offer

    Salary range up to £36,000 per year, dependent on the level of experience.
    Hybrid working with 3 days on site in Sheffield.
    27 days of holiday leave.
