How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Software Developer (Power Platform)

Ipswich, Suffolk   |   Full time, permanent   |   Competitive salary and benefits, plus full Microsoft certification support

Our client is a well-established, internationally operating manufacturer within the construction materials sector. They are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join their Digital team, working on the design, development and enhancement of their Power Apps-led reporting and data platforms.

This is a great opportunity for a C# and .NET developer who is keen to broaden their skills into the Microsoft Power Platform, with full training and Microsoft certification support provided along the way. You will join a genuinely people-focused business, one that has held Investors in People Platinum status for a number of years and was also awarded the We Invest in Wellbeing Gold accreditation on its first attempt.

    The role

Reporting to the Digital Development Manager, you will design, build and maintain business applications, integrations and reporting tools that support operations across the business. You will work closely with stakeholders to turn real business requirements into secure, scalable and user-friendly digital solutions.

Day to day, you can expect to be:

    •    Designing, developing, testing and maintaining business applications using C# and .NET
    •    Building responsive web interfaces using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
    •    Developing REST APIs and integrations connecting internal and third-party platforms
    •    Designing and building Power Apps solutions and Power Automate workflows
    •    Developing and maintaining Dataverse data models and business logic
    •    Writing efficient SQL queries, stored procedures and database solutions
    •    Building interactive Power BI dashboards, datasets and semantic models
    •    Supporting deployments through Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
    •    Taking part in code reviews, testing, debugging and technical documentation
    •    Running workshops and demonstrations, and supporting user training and adoption

    What we're looking for
    •    3+ years' commercial experience in software or application development
    •    Strong experience developing applications using C# and .NET
    •    Experience with SQL Server, relational databases and data modelling
    •    Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
    •    Experience developing and consuming REST APIs, and integrating with enterprise systems
    •    Exposure to Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse or Power BI is desirable, but not essential
    •    A working understanding of Azure services and cloud-based deployment
    •    Experience with Azure DevOps, Git or similar source control tools
    •    Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment
    •    Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    •    A proactive, curious attitude and a genuine interest in developing your skills further

    What's on offer
    •    A full time, permanent role based in Ipswich, Suffolk
    •    A competitive salary and benefits package
    •    Full training and Microsoft certification support in the Power Platform
    •    A collaborative, supportive culture with a strong track record of investing in its people
    •    The chance to work on genuinely impactful digital projects, from early discovery through to live delivery
