How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Low Carbon Recruitment is working with a rapidly growing renewable energy company based in Swindon who are MCS accredited. They are looking to partner with experienced solar sub-contract teams in the Hampshire area.

    They are a start up with huge financial backing and have rapidly built their national subcontract networks for both Heat Pumps and Solar installations for private domestic customers and new build site.

    The company specializes in the design and installation of air source heat pumps, solar panels & battery storage systems, and heating upgrades, and the work is kept local to where the teams are based. The solar systems they work on are Sigenergy, Fox & Tesla.

    Normally everything is delivered to site, installers bring basic mounting materials (hooks, rails, splices) or have materials sent to a local lock-up or merchant the day before; heavier items (panels, inverters) delivered to site

    As a solar sub-contractor team, you will be responsible for the full installation and maintenance of solar PV systems, with a focus on quality and efficiency. Your team will collaborate with the company’s internal staff and other tradespeople to ensure each project is completed on time and to a high standard.

    Responsibilities:

    *

    Full installation, maintenance, and repair of solar PV systems, including electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

    *

    Troubleshoot electrical issues and carry out repairs to ensure optimal system performance.

    *

    Collaborate with other tradespeople to meet project deadlines and ensure systems meet specifications.

    *

    Conduct inspections of electrical systems and identify potential issues or improvements.

    *

    Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.

    *

    Assist with trench digging for underground wiring when required.

    *

    Lead your team effectively, ensuring smooth execution of tasks and meeting safety and quality standards.

    *

    Maintain compliance with Health & Safety guidelines and industry standards.

    Requirements

    *

    Must be NAPIT or NICEIC registered

    *

    18th Edition Electrical Certification

    *

    2391 Test & Inspection

    *

    NVQ Level 3 in Electrical

    *

    Minimum 2-3 years’ experience installing and maintaining solar PV systems.

    *

    NAPIT or NICEIC Registered

    *

    Proven technical expertise in solar PV systems, including inverters, panels, and mounting systems.

    *

    Strong experience in troubleshooting, fault-finding, and electrical system testing.

    *

    Full UK driving license.

    *

    ECS Gold Card.

    *

    IPAF/PASMA certifications are an advantage.

    *

    SSSTS training (preferred but not essential).

    *

    Ability to lead your team with strong time management and organizational skills.

    *

    High standards of communication with clients and a customer-centric approach
