How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Service Manager (Automotive) | £45,000 - £48,000 Basic | OTE £63,000+ | Company Vehicle

Ready to lead a high-performing service team and make a real impact?

We're looking for an exceptional Service Manager to take the wheel of a busy, growing automotive aftersales operation. This is not a role for someone who simply wants to manage a workshop. We're looking for a leader who can inspire people, delight customers, drive performance, and continuously improve every aspect of the department.

If you're the type of person who enjoys turning good teams into great teams, loves KPIs almost as much as customer satisfaction, and gets a genuine buzz from developing people, we'd love to hear from you.

    What's in it for you?

    *

Basic Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 (depending on experience)

    *

    Realistic OTE: £63,000+

    *

    Quarterly bonus

    *

    Additional annual overachievement bonus

    *

    Company demonstrator vehicle

    *

    Pension scheme

    *

    Ongoing manufacturer training and development

    *

22 days holiday plus bank holidays

    The Opportunity

As Service Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for leading a successful service operation, including a modern workshop and van service facility.

You'll work closely with service advisors, workshop controllers, technicians, parts teams and senior management to ensure customers receive outstanding service while the department achieves its financial and operational goals.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to coach, motivate and develop people will be just as important as your ability to manage performance.

    What You'll Be Doing

    *

Leading, motivating and developing a high-performing service team

    *

Driving departmental profitability and labour sales

    *

Improving workshop productivity, efficiency and utilisation

    *

Managing capacity planning and workshop throughput

    *

Coaching service advisors, workshop controllers and technicians

    *

Monitoring and improving technician performance metrics

    *

    Delivering outstanding customer satisfaction results

    *

Achieving manufacturer and departmental KPI targets

    *

Managing customer concerns and ensuring swift resolutions

    *

Reducing work in progress and improving vehicle turnaround times

    *

Working collaboratively with the Parts Department

    *

Leading daily planning and operational meetings

    *

    Identifying and implementing process improvements

    *

Recruiting, developing and retaining talented team members

    *

Maintaining manufacturer standards and operational compliance

    Safety First

You'll also play a key role in promoting a strong Health & Safety culture by:

Ensuring safe workshop practices are always followed

Maintaining compliance with legislation and company policies

Conducting risk assessments and resolving potential hazards

Supporting staff training and PPE compliance

Creating a safe environment for colleagues, customers and visitors

    Who We're Looking For

You'll likely already be an experienced Service Manager within a franchised dealership environment and have a proven track record of delivering results.

    You'll be:

    A confident and inspirational leader

Passionate about developing and coaching people

Commercially minded with strong financial awareness

Customer-focused and committed to exceptional service

Comfortable analysing KPIs and turning insights into action

Calm under pressure and decisive when challenges arise

Highly organised with excellent communication skills

Driven by continuous improvement and operational excellence

    Why Join Us?

We're building something special. This role offers the opportunity to lead an ambitious team, influence business performance, and be recognised and rewarded for success.

If you're looking for a position where your ideas will be heard, your achievements celebrated, and your leadership genuinely valued, we'd love to hear from you.
