A welcoming and inclusive specialist school in Reading is looking for a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is compassionate, adaptable and motivated to make a positive difference in the lives of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will work with children and young people who may have a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health challenges.
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide individualised 1:1 and small group support
Help pupils engage positively with learning and classroom activities
Adapt your approach to meet individual needs and abilities
Support communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviourThis Specialist Teaching Assistant position would be ideal for someone with previous experience in SEN, childcare, care, youth work, support work or education. The school is also keen to hear from graduates and aspiring professionals looking to gain valuable experience before progressing into careers such as educational psychology, teaching, therapy or other specialist areas.
