How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Camden, London
    Pay: £90–£100 per day
    Contract: Full Time, Temporary
    Start Date: September 2026

Teach Now is seeking a resilient, empathetic and relationship-focused SEN Teaching Assistant with SEMH experience to support primary-aged pupils in Camden.

This role is about more than helping with academic work. You will help pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) develop confidence, regulate emotions, engage positively with learning and build secure relationships with the adults around them.

    Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs.

Build consistent, positive and professional relationships with pupils.

Help children regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.

Support individual behaviour and learning plans.

    Use calm, appropriate de-escalation strategies.

Reinforce boundaries and positive behaviour consistently.

Identify triggers and communicate observations to teaching and SEN staff.

Support pupils academically while recognising the emotional barriers that may affect learning.

    What We’re Looking For

Experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural needs or additional needs.

A calm and emotionally resilient approach.

    Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.

Team Teach or relevant behaviour-support training is advantageous but not essential.

Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Right to work in the UK.

    What Teach Now Offers

    Competitive daily pay.

    Dedicated support throughout your placement.

Access to SEN-focused roles across London.

    Professional development opportunities.

The opportunity to make a tangible difference to pupils who benefit from consistent adult support.

Pay is dependent on qualifications and experience.
