General Haulage HGV Class 1 Driver

We are looking for reliable and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our client’s team on a permanent basis in Newton Aycliffe. You’ll be responsible for safe and timely delivery of goods across the UK, ensuring compliance with all road transport legislation and company policies.

You will be working on a 5 on 2 off shift pattern plus regular overtime.

This role is general haulage work.

Your Responsibilities

Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and safety
Involves store deliveries and cage work
Ensure safe and secure loading
Drive safely and practice fuel – efficient driving
Perform regular walk around inspections
Deliver a high standard of customer service
Maintain cleanliness and presentation
Candidate Requirements

HGV/LGV licence – Class 1
Valid driver card
Valid CPC card
Minimum 3 months experience in general haulage work and 6 months UK Class 1 driving experience
A customer friendly manner and a positive can-do attitude
The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team 
A solid understanding of tachograph rules and working time directive and valid CPC and digital tachograph card.
The right to work in the UK
No DD or DR offences
No more than 3 points on your licence
