How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Data Analyst
    Rate: up to £426 per day - Umbrella only
    Duration: 4 months
    Location: Milton Keynes office 2 days per week onsite
    Credit check required

    PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    The Data Analytics & Insight Manager will support insight into key areas of long-term focus for both VWFS and VWG, using technical analytical methods, delivering key findings that will help support recommendations that provide long lasting results for all parties.
    The role exists to enhance, produce and standardise all presentations and reporting packs for senior management within Customer & Product Transformation, and ultimately the BOM.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    Design and manage automated performance reporting, standard reporting suite and ensure full end to end and aligned reporting, enabling fast and accurate information production to aid stakeholder decision making.
    Provide reporting insight supporting Retail (and potentially other areas of the business)
    Supporting and managing movement of reporting activity and suite into data product-based teams
    Support in the timely delivery of data requested by senior stakeholders across the business
    Ensure consistency into all relevant reporting and analytical presentations, providing off the shelf answers where appropriate.
    Produce reporting and analysis to support local senior management and Headquarter requirements including both sales and financial information.
    Monitor actual sales and financial performance vs budgeted performance, highlighting and providing rationale for explanations regarding any significant deviation.
    Effectively utilise a number of analytical tools including but not restricted to data mining, quantitative analysis, cluster analysis, pattern recognition and correlation discovery to deliver relevant performance insights to senior leadership.
    Support the Customer & Product Transformation department in providing sound commercial insight to complement technical insight. Create true organisational value through producing analytics and reporting and ensure reporting is right first time, giving confidence in use for senior stakeholders.
    Analyse key customer behaviours within campaigns, including right of withdrawal analysis, early settlement analysis, and, hand in hand with marketing, renewal rates seen on certain offerings to ensure appropriate control mechanisms are in place.
    Own and manage changes to source Business Objects systems
    EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree, preferably in a statistical or scientific discipline is desirable.
    Preferably have commercial experience and/or within the automotive/financial service industry
    Worked in an comparable analytical environment.
    Full PC literacy essential, including advanced competence in core MS Office applications, especially Excel.
    Understanding and experience of the use of mathematical and statistical tools desirable.
    Experience in implementing technically complex activities, particularly of a reporting or analytical nature.
    Proven success in sharing complex technical knowledge across multiple senior stakeholder groups.
    Experience of elements of statistical and financial modelling and performance analysis.
    Proven track record of balancing work on multiple projects simultaneously.
    Experience of tools such as data mining, quantitative analysis, cluster analysis, pattern recognition and correlation discovery desirable.
    SKILLS & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED

    Analytical thinker, but with the ability to engage and convey ideas and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
    Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to influence stakeholders.
    Ability to analyse complex data sets producing long term recommendations with lasting results.
    Proactive and engaging mind; able to analyse complex and unrelated issues and make appropriate and recommendations in response.
    Ability to deliver at pace and cope under pressure/meet strict deadlines.
    Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Tableau skills essential
    Technically minded.
