How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Pricing Analyst - Technical - Insurance

Location: Tunbridge Wells - Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite

    Salary: Upto £60,000 p/a

Are you someone who enjoys getting stuck into complex data, building better models and asking "how can we make this more predictive?"

We're working with a major player in the health insurance space who are looking for a Senior Technical Pricing Analyst to join their technical pricing function. This isn't a role where you'll simply be maintaining existing models. You'll have the opportunity to explore new data, test new approaches and play a key part in improving how the business understands and prices risk.

Working across a range of individual and commercial portfolios, you'll use claims data, predictive modelling and modern data science techniques to tackle some genuinely interesting pricing challenges.

    What makes this opportunity interesting?

You'll sit at the intersection of Pricing, Claims and Reserving, giving you exposure to a broad range of data and stakeholders across the business.
One day you could be investigating changes in claims trends or the impact of inflation and emerging treatment costs. The next, you could be testing new datasets or experimenting with modelling techniques to see whether they can improve the performance of an existing model.
There is plenty of scope to bring ideas to the table. If you see an opportunity to improve something, you'll be encouraged to explore it.
As a senior member of the team, you'll also have the chance to support less experienced analysts and help shape technical best practice as the function continues to evolve.

You'll probably enjoy this role if...

You like understanding the story behind the data, rather than just producing models for the sake of it.
You're comfortable working with claims data and understand the challenges of modelling insurance risk.
You enjoy coding and using tools such as Python to solve problems.
You have experience with pricing platforms such as Radar or similar.
You're interested in modern data science techniques and how they can be applied in a real-world pricing environment.
You enjoy working with different teams and can explain technical concepts without losing people in the detail.
You're happy being hands-on but also enjoy having influence and helping others develop.

    What we're looking for…

We're keen to speak with experienced Pricing Analysts, Technical Pricing Analysts or similar professionals who have worked within the insurance industry.
A strong quantitative background and an understanding of actuarial or reserving concepts would also be beneficial.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is curious, commercially aware and enjoys finding better ways of doing things.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine technical modelling, data science and genuine business impact, while continuing to develop your skills in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you.
