The Opportunity
We're currently recruiting for an experienced Air Import Operations Coordinator to join a leading global logistics and supply chain business.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid background in air freight operations, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of shipments from arrival through to final delivery.
You'll be responsible for coordinating international air import shipments, working closely with customers, customs, overseas agents, carriers and internal teams to ensure freight moves efficiently, compliantly and cost-effectively.
The Role
As an Air Import Operations Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
Managing the end-to-end process for air import shipments, from arrival through to final delivery
Coordinating with customers, customs, overseas agents, carriers and internal teams
Preparing and checking documentation required for import and customs clearance
Tracking and tracing shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery
Providing customers with regular updates on shipment status, routing and delivery arrangements
Handling quotations, rates, routing and shipment coordination
Liaising with overseas branches and agents to ensure a high level of customer service
Ensuring accurate job costing, billing and cost information
Identifying the most efficient and commercially viable transportation solutions
Ensuring all shipments are handled in line with relevant customs, compliance and company requirements
Working towards key operational KPIs, including cost accuracy and service performance
Supporting the wider operations team and assisting with other duties when requiredAbout You
We're looking for someone who has at least 2 years' experience within freight forwarding, logistics or international freight operations, ideally with strong exposure to air imports.
You'll need:
Previous experience in air freight/import operations
A good understanding of import processes, customs and shipping documentation
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to manage a high volume of shipments and competing priorities
A customer-focused approach with the ability to build strong working relationships
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
