How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.

    Site Services Engineer / Maintenance Engineer

    Deeside, near Chester

    Up to £43,000 | 37.5 Hours Per Week | Rotating Day Shifts | Single-Site Role | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

    An established retail business is looking for an experienced Site Services Engineer to join its in-house engineering team at its office and distribution site in Deeside, near Chester.
    This is a varied maintenance role covering building services, mechanical and electrical systems, site infrastructure and general facilities maintenance.
    You will work directly for the business at one location, with no travelling between sites.
    The salary is up to £43,000, with a 37.5-hour working week and three rotating day shifts: 6am to 2pm, 7am to 3pm and 9am to 5pm.

    The Role

    As a Site Services Engineer, you will help maintain a large office, depot and distribution facility, ensuring the site, equipment and associated building services remain safe, compliant and operational.
    The role involves planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and equipment inspections across various mechanical and electrical systems.
    You will also support the upkeep of building management systems, dock equipment, access equipment and general site services.
    This position would suit an experienced Site Services Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Facilities Engineer, Building Services Engineer or Multiskilled Engineer looking for a static, in-house role.

    Working Hours

    The role involves rotating between three day shifts:

    6am to 2pm.
    7am to 3pm.
    9am to 5pm.
    Total working hours are 37.5 per week.

    Key Responsibilities

    Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across the office, depot and wider site.
    Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, building services systems and site infrastructure.
    Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise disruption.
    Maintain building management systems, including Trend BMS.
    Complete statutory maintenance and compliance checks, including legionella monitoring and electrical safety inspections.
    Inspect and maintain dock levellers, access equipment and materials-handling equipment.
    Use the Shire CMMS system to manage maintenance schedules and record completed work.
    Assist with the installation of new plant, equipment and site infrastructure.
    Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and energy efficiency.
    Maintain engineering documentation, compliance records and maintenance reports.
    Support office moves, meeting room arrangements and occasional audio-visual equipment requirements.
    Work alongside the Facilities Manager to coordinate maintenance activities and manage repair costs.

    What You'll Need

    Experience as a Site Services Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Facilities Engineer, Building Services Engineer or Multiskilled Engineer.
    A recognised mechanical or electrical qualification, such as City & Guilds, ONC or an equivalent apprenticeship.
    Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
    Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance within facilities management, distribution, manufacturing or building services environments.
    Knowledge of health and safety legislation, electrical safety and statutory maintenance requirements.
    An understanding of legionella control, building services compliance or general site maintenance.
    The ability to work independently, prioritise maintenance tasks and communicate effectively with colleagues.
    A full UK driving licence.
    The following qualifications or experience would also be beneficial:

    BS 7671 electrical regulations, including 17th or 18th Edition.
    Counterbalance forklift truck licence.
    IPAF 3a/3b.
    Experience using Trend BMS or computerised maintenance management systems.
