How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An established multidisciplinary construction consultancy is looking to appoint an ambitious Director to play a key role in the growth and diversification of their London office. This is an opportunity for a commercially driven Director to develop new client relationships, win work and build a team across the commercial, residential, hospitality and wider private-sector markets.

The London office already provides the successful Director with an established platform, but the ambition is to significantly broaden its presence across the built environment. The Director will have the autonomy to utilise their existing network, open doors with new clients and shape the direction of the team. They are therefore looking for a Director who can bring relationships and opportunities from the outset, while developing a sustainable pipeline for longer-term growth. For an entrepreneurial Director, this offers genuine influence over how the London business develops.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Director's role

The Director will work alongside the existing leadership team to grow the London Project Management offering, with a particular focus on expanding into commercial, residential, hospitality and other private-sector developments.

A major part of the position will involve business development, using your existing network to generate opportunities and convert relationships into new instructions. Alongside winning work, you will lead client relationships and provide senior oversight on project delivery.

As the workload grows, the Director will recruit and develop a team around them, creating a strong Project Management offering and establishing a greater presence within the London market.

    The Director

The successful Director will ideally have:

Significant experience within a construction or property consultancy
A proven track record of winning work and generating fees
An established London network with relationships that can create opportunities immediately
Strong experience within commercial, residential, hospitality or wider private-sector development
Previous experience leading and developing teams
The ability to identify opportunities and convert them into long-term client relationships
    A relevant construction/property degree
MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or another relevant professional qualification
Strong commercial awareness and the credibility to operate at senior client level

    In Return?

    £110,000 - £130,000
Opportunity to shape the future direction of an established London office
Genuine autonomy to build a team and service offering
Scope to develop new sectors and client relationships
Senior influence within the wider consultancy
Performance-related package with significant longer-term progression potential
