How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Providing commercial leadership to Assistant Quantity Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors

Supporting project teams with commercial decision-making and best practice

    About You

We are looking for an established commercial professional with a strong background working for a civil engineering or infrastructure contractor.

    You should have:

Strong civil engineering/infrastructure experience, ideally within utilities, water or heavy civils

    Proven NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract experience

Experience managing the full commercial lifecycle from tender and delivery through to final account

Strong knowledge of CVRs, forecasting, cost management and cash flow

Experience managing subcontract procurement and subcontractor accounts

Experience working on design and build civil engineering projects

Responsibility for project or programme profit and loss

Experience managing and developing commercial teams

Degree/HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

Strong commercial, communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience with IChemE contracts, open-book environments or direct delivery contractors would be advantageous.

RICS membership, or working towards professional membership, would also be beneficial but is not essential.

    What's on Offer?

    Competitive salary dependent on experience

    Company car/car allowance

    Company pension

    Private medical cover

    Life assurance

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and additional loyalty days

    Employee Assistance Programme

    Flexible benefits

    Leadership and management development

Ongoing professional training and career progression
