How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Electrician - Renewable Energy & Solar PV

    Location: Cardiff & South Wales
    Salary: £45,000–£47,000 per annum (depending on experience)
    Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

    About the Role

    Due to continued growth and increasing project demand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrician to join our expanding team across Cardiff and South Wales.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled electrical professional to take on a senior position within a forward-thinking business delivering domestic renewable energy solutions. As a Senior Electrician, you will play a key role in overseeing electrical installations, supporting junior engineers, maintaining high standards of workmanship, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry regulations.

    The successful candidate will have strong experience in domestic electrical installations, solar PV systems, and fault finding, alongside the ability to lead projects and provide technical guidance to colleagues.

    What We're Looking For

    To be considered for this role, you should have:

    * Fully qualified Electrician with AM2 or AM2E

    * Extensive experience in domestic electrical installation work

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification

    * Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent preferred)

    * Solar PV qualification and experience (desirable)

    * Proven experience installing, testing, and commissioning electrical systems

    * Experience with consumer unit upgrades, fault finding, and electrical maintenance

    * Knowledge of solar PV, battery storage systems, inverters, and renewable technologies

    * Ability to supervise, mentor, and support junior electricians and installers

    * Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills

    * Excellent communication and customer service skills

    * Full UK Driving Licence

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead and carry out domestic electrical installations across Cardiff and South Wales

    * Oversee the electrical aspects of solar PV and battery storage projects

    * Install, test, inspect, commission, and certify electrical systems in accordance with current regulations

    * Conduct consumer unit replacements, remedial works, and electrical upgrades

    * Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely

    * Ensure all work complies with BS7671 and company standards

    * Provide technical guidance and support to junior electricians and installation teams

    * Complete certification, reports, and job documentation accurately

    * Maintain excellent customer relationships through professional service delivery

    * Promote and uphold high standards of health, safety, and quality across all projects
