How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working within a busy and established branch, you will take responsibility for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the branch, ensuring high standards across customer service, stock control, team performance, health & safety and operational efficiency.     Job Duties Include:

    Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational performance of the branch.

    Lead, motivate and develop the branch team to deliver excellent customer service and operational standards.

    Ensure the branch operates efficiently, with a strong focus on productivity, accuracy and profitability.

    Oversee stock management, ensuring accurate stock levels, effective ordering and minimal stock discrepancies.

    Monitor goods-in and goods-out processes, ensuring parts are received, stored and dispatched correctly.

    Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered within agreed timescales.

    Work closely with the sales team to ensure strong communication between sales, warehouse and delivery operations.

    Monitor branch KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels and overall performance.

    Manage and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.

    Maintain strong relationships with trade customers, suppliers and internal departments.

    Ensure the branch is maintained to a high standard, including warehouse, trade counter and customer-facing areas.

    Take responsibility for Health & Safety, ensuring all branch procedures and company policies are followed.

    Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development of branch employees.

    Coach and mentor team members, encouraging a positive, accountable and high-performing culture.

    Assist with implementing company initiatives, operational improvements and new processes.

    Monitor branch costs and resources, ensuring the operation remains commercially efficient.

    Work closely with senior management to achieve wider business objectives and continuously improve branch performance.

    Requirements:

    Previous experience within the

    automotive aftermarket, motor factor or automotive parts industry

    .

    Experience in a

    Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Parts Manager, Assistant Branch Manager

    or similar position.

    Strong knowledge of automotive parts, branch operations and aftermarket processes.

    Proven experience managing and developing a team.

    Strong understanding of stock control, warehouse processes and logistics.

    Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

    Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of branch performance, costs and profitability.

    Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    Ability to remain calm and effective in a busy, fast-paced environment.

    Good IT skills and experience using branch management or stock control systems.

    Full UK Driving Licence.
