Location: Stevenage - fully onsite, 5 days per week
Type: Permanent
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum
Our client is an established pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation currently undergoing a period of positive change and QMS development.
They are looking to appoint an experienced QA Officer to join their Quality Assurance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional to develop their career within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
The Role
The QA Officer will support quality, compliance and GMP activities across the site, with a particular focus on batch review and release, QMS activities, deviations, CAPA, change controls and audits.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and approve batch manufacturing and packaging documentation.
• Support and make batch release decisions, ensuring products are suitable for release.
• Lead and support deviation and non-conformance investigations.
• Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as Fishbone and 5 Whys.
• Manage CAPAs and change controls through to compliant closure.
• Author, review and approve SOPs, work instructions and other controlled documents.
• Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the site's QMS.
• Participate in and/or host internal, customer and regulatory audits.
• Conduct internal audits as part of the site audit programme.
• Investigate and manage customer and supplier complaints.
• Support GMP training and promote a strong quality culture.
• Contribute to quality KPIs, validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
• A degree in a STEM or related life sciences subject.
• GMP QA experience within a regulated manufacturing environment - pharmaceutical experience highly desirable.
• Strong batch review and batch release experience.
• Practical experience with deviations, CAPA and change controls.
• Internal auditing experience would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of GMP and QMS principles.
• Experience with investigations and root cause analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently, make risk-based decisions and collaborate effectively across departments.
• A proactive, inquisitive and continuous-improvement mindset.
