How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your new role
    You will join a specialist legal and policy team, working on complex regulatory and investigative matters with significant public interest implications.This is a varied and strategic role that combines legal analysis, policy development and stakeholder engagement. You will advise on complex regulatory issues, support the development of organisational policy and procedure, and work alongside colleagues from a range of legal, regulatory and professional backgrounds.Key responsibilities will include:

    Providing legal and policy advice on complex investigations and regulatory matters.
    Supporting the development and implementation of policy and regulatory frameworks.
    Drafting advice papers, reports and briefing notes for senior stakeholders.
    Working collaboratively across legal, policy and operational teams.
    Engaging with external stakeholders on legal and regulatory issues.
    Developing and maintaining legal know-how, guidance and precedents.
    Managing relationships with external legal advisers and counsel where required.
    What you'll need to succeed

    Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with significant experience in public law, regulatory law, investigations, disciplinary proceedings or contentious matters.
    Strong analytical, drafting and advisory skills.
    Experience working within a regulatory, government, public sector or similarly complex environment would be advantageous.
    Experience contributing to policy development would be beneficial.
    Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
    Strong project management and organisational skills.
    An interest in public-interest work and the wider regulatory landscape.
