How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Opportunity

Morson Praxis' sister company Waldeck is looking for an experienced Associate Surveyor to join our growing Commercial team.

This is a senior opportunity for a Chartered Surveyor who is ready to take greater ownership of client relationships, project performance and the development of the wider team.

You’ll lead the commercial delivery of a varied portfolio of projects, with a particular focus on residential and care developments, while supporting the continued growth and success of the business.

The role combines hands-on, fee-earning project delivery with client management, team leadership and responsibility for ensuring projects are commercially and operationally well managed.

    Who We Are

Waldeck is an award-winning engineering and technical consultancy with over 25 years’ experience across the built environment.

We work collaboratively with our clients to deliver innovative, practical and sustainable solutions, supporting projects across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK.

    What You’ll Be Doing

As an Associate Surveyor, you’ll take a leading role in the delivery and commercial management of projects, while developing strong relationships with clients and supporting the wider team.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Leading the surveying and commercial delivery of projects across multiple sectors.

    * Managing significant residential and care projects with values of up to £100m.

    * Maintaining a strong fee-earning contribution through the direct delivery and management of client projects.

    * Acting as a senior point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring a consistently high standard of service.

    * Providing commercial, contractual and technical advice throughout the project lifecycle.

    * Overseeing project budgets, fees, resources and financial performance.

    * Managing agreed fees on a project-by-project basis, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and commercially.

    * Monitoring project performance, identifying risks and taking appropriate action where required.

    * Ensuring internal procedures, governance requirements and quality standards are followed across projects.

    * Leading and supporting members of the surveying team, providing guidance, mentoring and technical oversight.

    * Supporting business development, client retention and the identification of new opportunities.

    * Preparing and contributing to fee proposals, bids and presentations.

    * Providing regular reporting on project, client and commercial performance to the Management Board.

    * Contributing to the wider strategic development and continuous improvement of the Commercial team.

This is not an exhaustive list, and the role will evolve in line with project and business requirements.

    What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an established Chartered Surveyor with strong commercial awareness, excellent client management skills and the confidence to operate at Associate level.

    Ideally, you’ll have:

    * MRICS status or an equivalent professional qualification.

    * At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience.

    * Significant surveying and commercial experience across multiple sectors.

    * Demonstrable experience delivering residential and care sector projects, including major projects with values of up to £100m.

    * A strong track record of managing projects from both a technical and commercial perspective.

    * Proven experience of developing and managing senior client relationships.

    * Experience of working in a fee-earning consultancy environment.

    * Strong understanding of project fees, resource management, budgets and commercial performance.

    * Experience of managing and implementing internal processes and procedures.

    * The ability to lead, mentor and support other members of the team.

    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to report and present at senior management level.

    * Strong commercial judgement, organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

    What’s In It for You?

Joining Waldeck means becoming part of a growing consultancy where you’ll have the opportunity to influence the development of the team while working on exciting and significant projects.

    Our benefits include:

26 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.

    Company-funded professional memberships.

    Ongoing professional and career development.

Family-friendly policies to support you at different stages of life.

    Life assurance.

    Company sick pay.

Employee Assistance Programme and mental health and wellbeing support.
