How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Opportunity

Morson Praxis' sister company Waldeck is looking for an experienced Senior Surveyor to join our growing Commercial team.

This is a great opportunity for a Chartered Surveyor looking to take the lead on projects, manage multidisciplinary project teams and develop their career within a growing consultancy.

You’ll take responsibility for the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of projects, with a particular focus on residential and care developments with project values of up to £30m, acting as the project lead and key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with and reporting to an Associate Surveyor, you’ll have the opportunity to take significant ownership of your projects while continuing to develop your technical, commercial and leadership experience.

    Who We Are

Waldeck is an award-winning engineering and technical consultancy with over 25 years’ experience across the built environment.

We work collaboratively with our clients to deliver innovative, practical and sustainable solutions, supporting projects across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK.

    What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Surveyor, you’ll act as the lead surveyor on your allocated projects, taking responsibility for project delivery, client relationships and the coordination of the wider project team.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Acting as Project Lead on residential, care and other development projects with values of up to £30m.

    * Managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered to the required quality, programme and commercial expectations.

    * Leading and coordinating all internal and external team members involved in your projects.

    * Acting as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.

    * Providing commercial, contractual and technical advice throughout the project lifecycle.

    * Preparing and managing tender and contract documentation.

    * Producing cost plans, estimates, contract reports and other project documentation.

    * Administering contracts, including valuations, variations, payments and certification.

    * Chairing and minuting project meetings and ensuring accurate records and actions are maintained.

    * Undertaking and coordinating site visits, handovers, defect inspections and project reporting.

    * Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and issues and ensuring appropriate action is taken.

    * Supporting and mentoring junior members of the surveying team.

    * Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with Waldeck’s internal procedures, quality standards and commercial requirements.

    * Supporting fee proposals, bids and wider business development activity where required.

    * Providing regular project updates and reporting to the Associate Surveyor.

This is not an exhaustive list, and the role will evolve in line with project and business requirements.

    What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a confident and commercially aware Chartered Surveyor who is comfortable taking ownership of projects and leading project teams.

    Ideally, you’ll have:

    * MRICS status or an equivalent professional qualification.

    * At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience.

    * Demonstrable experience delivering residential and care sector projects, including projects with values of up to £30m.

    * Experience acting as a project lead and taking responsibility for projects from inception through to completion.

    * The ability to effectively lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.

    * Strong client and stakeholder management skills.

    * A good understanding of construction contracts, commercial management and project delivery.

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    * Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

    * A collaborative approach with the ability to support and develop more junior colleagues.

    * Strong commercial judgement and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues.

    What’s In It for You?

Joining Waldeck means becoming part of a growing consultancy where you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of significant projects while continuing to progress your career.

    Our benefits include:

26 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.

    Company-funded professional memberships.

    Ongoing professional and career development.

Family-friendly policies to support you at different stages of life.
