How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Playground Inspector
    Location: Northampton
    Hourly Rate: £13.45 - £14.00 DOE
    Contract type: Permanent
    Working hours: Monday - Friday 07:00 - 16:30

    About the role

    We are currently looking for a Playground Inspector to join our team in Northampton to oversee and carry out weekly inspections on a number of play parks in the area, to ensure that play equipment is clean, in full working order and is in line with our client's high standards and Health & Safety regulations, as well as ensuring the surrounding areas of the park are also well maintained. As an inspector, you will not only provide full inspection reports but will also work with the client to remedy any problems and make recommendations for actions required.

    Responsibilities:

    Conduct routine playground safety inspections across approximately 112 play areas within West Northamptonshire.
    Identify and carry out basic remedial repairs to playground equipment.
    Record inspection findings and report defects, maintenance requirements, and safety concerns.
    Liaise with the client team regarding contractual maintenance activities and repair requirements.
    Obtain and share quotations for larger-scale repairs and replacement works.
    Undertake planned painting and refurbishment of play equipment in line with maintenance programmes.
    Carry out litter picking and bin servicing to maintain clean and safe play environments.
    Ensure all play areas meet relevant safety standards and regulations.
    Work collaboratively as part of a team of Playground Inspectors to deliver high-quality maintenance services.
    Provide a professional and customer-focused service when interacting with clients and members of the public.Requirements

    Can-do attitude and safety-conscious mindset.
    Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
    Previous experience inspecting and maintaining play areas.
    RPII (Register of Play Inspectors International) training beneficial.
    Extensive and applicable knowledge of related Health & Safety Legislation.
    A full valid UK driving license is essential.
    Local knowledge of the Northampton area.
