How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Southampton
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Long-Term Position with Permanent Opportunity for the Right Candidate
    Pay: £180 – £260 per day (depending on experience)

    About the Role

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Health & Social Care and Child Development Teacher to join a supportive department from September 2026.

    You will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Health & Social Care and Child Development, helping students develop both subject knowledge and practical understanding of health, early years, childcare, and social care settings. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing learners for further study and future careers within the care, education, and health sectors.

    This is a long-term position from September 2026, with the potential to become a permanent appointment for the right individual.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    Has experience teaching Health & Social Care and/or Child Development at secondary level
    Demonstrates excellent classroom management and organisational skills
    Inspires students through engaging, inclusive, and well-planned lessons
    Has a genuine passion for supporting young people and raising achievement
    Works collaboratively and contributes positively to wider school life
