How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    EXPERIENCED VDA / ESTIMATOR
    Location: Sheffield
    Salary: From £45,000 Depending on Experience
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday - Friday - 08:30 - 17:00

    THE ROLE
    As an Experienced VDA / Estimator, you will be responsible for assessing accident-damaged vehicles, preparing accurate repair estimates and ensuring repairs are planned and authorised efficiently. You'll work closely with customers, insurers, repair technicians and management to ensure vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standards.

    Key Responsibilities:
    ·Carry out accurate vehicle damage assessments and identify the full extent of accident damage
    ·Produce detailed and accurate repair estimates using appropriate estimating systems
    ·Liaise with customers, insurers, engineers and other relevant parties throughout the repair process
    ·Ensure repair methods and estimates comply with manufacturer and industry standards
    ·Review repair requirements and identify additional damage or supplementary work where necessary
    ·Work closely with Panel, MET and Paint Technicians to ensure efficient vehicle throughput
    ·Monitor repair progress and communicate any changes or delays effectively
    ·Ensure all repair documentation, estimates and processes are completed accurately and professionally

    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for an experienced, commercially aware and customer-focused VDA / Estimator with a strong background within the automotive accident repair industry.
    ·Proven experience working as a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator
    ·Previous experience within an accident repair centre or automotive bodyshop
    ·Strong knowledge of vehicle damage assessment and accident repair processes
    ·Experience producing accurate repair estimates and supplements
    ·Confident using automotive estimating systems and relevant technology
    ·Strong understanding of manufacturer repair methods and industry standards
    ·Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
    ·Strong communication and customer service skills
    ·Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
    ·Professional, organised and commercially aware approach
    ·Strong team player with the ability to work independently
    ·IMI / ATA qualification advantageous
    ·Full UK Driving Licence preferred
