How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a multi-skilled Engineering Technician with experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments?

Do you enjoy fault finding, planned maintenance, and improving line performance on modern, high-speed production lines?

Are you looking for a stable, long-term role with a business that genuinely invests in its people and engineering capability?

MacGregor Black is partnering with a leading FMCG manufacturing business on the search for an Engineering Technician. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Milton Keynes, operating on a continental shift pattern, within a highly automated production environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with engineering schedules, recommending improvements where efficiencies can be maximised.

    * Diagnose faults and respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime across high-speed production lines.

    * Support line performance through analysis of efficiency, waste, and downtime data, contributing to continuous improvement activity.

    * Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and compliance, ensuring all work is carried out in line with site and legislative requirements.

    * Produce clear and accurate engineering documentation, including downtime reports and line logbooks.

    * Consult manufacturers’ manuals and mechanical drawings to identify correct replacement parts and support effective repairs.

    * Support operational requirements by operating machinery when required to ensure efficient team working.

    What We're Looking For:

    * City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical engineering discipline.

    * Experience working in a multi-skilled engineering role within FMCG, food, beverage, or high-speed manufacturing environments (preferred).

    * Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, breakdown response, and planned maintenance processes.

    * Exposure to continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies
