How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Design Coordinator - Planned Works

    Location: Bromley, BR1
    Salary: £40,000 per annum
    Contract: Permanent

    The Opportunity

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Coordinator to join a growing Planned Works team on a permanent basis, based in Bromley, BR1.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and well-organised design professional with experience within construction, refurbishment, planned works or Design & Build environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating design delivery across projects, working closely with consultants, contractors and internal project teams to ensure technical information is delivered accurately, on time and in line with programme and compliance requirements.

    You will play a key role in managing design information from tender through to completion and handover, identifying potential risks and ensuring that approved drawings, specifications and technical information are available to support successful construction delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    Design Management

    Coordinate design activities from tender through to project completion and handover.
    Maintain accurate design trackers, drawing registers, RFI logs and design programmes.
    Ensure design information is reviewed, approved and issued through the relevant CDE process.
    Monitor design progress and proactively identify and escalate delays, risks or information gaps.
    Ensure the latest approved design information is available to project and site teams.Consultant & Project Coordination

    Coordinate external consultants, designers and specialist subcontractors.
    Arrange and attend design meetings, recording actions and monitoring deliverables through to completion.
    Coordinate technical queries and ensure they are resolved within agreed timescales.
    Ensure consultant responsibilities and deliverables are clearly defined.
    Work closely with Commercial, Operations, Quality and Site teams to ensure design supports successful project delivery.Programme, Risk & Compliance

    Coordinate design releases and construction information to support project programmes and procurement requirements.
    Maintain design risk registers and identify issues that could affect cost, quality, buildability or programme.
    Support the management of compliance information, including Building Regulations and Building Safety Act requirements where applicable.
    Assist with quality assurance, inspections and project assurance processes.
    Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained throughout the project lifecycle and is available for handover.

    About You

    We are looking for a proactive, organised and technically minded Design Coordinator who can confidently manage multiple design deliverables and work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

    You will ideally have:

    Previous experience coordinating design delivery within construction, refurbishment, planned works or Design & Build.
    Experience working with consultants, technical teams and specialist designers.
    Good understanding of construction processes, design management and document control.
    Ability to identify design, compliance, buildability and programme risks.
    Strong communication, coordination and organisational skills.
    Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    Experience using Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms and maintaining design records.
    A proactive approach to resolving issues and keeping projects moving.

    Qualifications

    HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent construction-related qualification is desirable.
    Relevant industry experience will also be considered.

    Desirable Experience

    Experience within any of the following would be advantageous:

    Planned maintenance and planned works.
    Social housing.
    Refurbishment.
    Retrofit.
    Design & Build.
    Building safety and compliance.
    Quality management and project assurance.
