How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Description

    We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production targets.

    Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, leading production teams, and driving continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for delivering high levels of productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

    The successful candidate will be a strong people manager with a passion for operational excellence and proven experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations to achieve production targets.
    Ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
    Monitor production performance and implement improvements where necessary.
    Manage labour, equipment, and materials to maximise productivity and efficiency.
    Ensure production schedules are achieved and customer delivery requirements are met.
    Manage, coach, and develop production supervisors, team leaders, and operators.
    Foster a positive, high-performance culture built on accountability and teamwork.
    Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
    Promote employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
    Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
    Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
    Reduce downtime, waste, and operational costs.
    Support the implementation of new processes, equipment, and technologies
    Monitor and report on key production KPIs including output, efficiency, quality, downtime, and labour utilisation.
    Analyse production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
    Contribute to operational planning and business improvement projects.

    Profile

    You are an experienced Production Manager with a proven track record of leading manufacturing teams and delivering operational improvements. You are highly organised, results-driven, and capable of balancing people management with operational performance.

    You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about driving continuous improvement while developing your team.

    Proven experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.
    Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.
    Experience leading and developing teams within an industrial manufacturing and engineering environment.
    Knowledge of Health & Safety, quality systems, and operational best practices.
    Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    Experience managing production KPIs and driving performance improvements.
    Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    Good IT skills, including experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
    HNC/HND or Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline / equivalent.
    Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement qualifications.
    IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
    A background in mechanical engineering ands assembly would helpJob Offer
