How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Oldham, Greater Manchester

    Overview:

    This highly-regarded, long-established business is a leader in their field with a strong reputation for quality and excellent customer service backed by an excellent fulfilment and distribution operation from their on site warehousing facility.

    As they continue to grow, they have a fantastic opportunity for a Warehouse Manager to join them. This is a particularly exciting time to be joining the business as they embark on a warehouse relocation project so you will play a key role in site optimisation, workflow and layout.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Manage the day to day running of the warehouse operation, this will include small-scale production / finishing activities.

    * Deploy warehouse resources effectively, implement clear procedures and drive performance through targeted KPIs with a focus on customer service and continuous improvement.

    * Oversee incoming goods, storage, processing and dispatch operations.

    * Manage stock accuracy, stock turn and aged stock.

    * Lead, recruit and mentor the warehouse team.

    * Lead the planning and execution of the warehouse relocation project, optimising the new site layout for space, productivity and safety.

    * Work closely with the Supply Chain Director on process reviews, efficiency recommendations and cost optimisation.

    Person Specification:

    * A proven warehousing professional with experience in managing a warehousing or distribution operation. This may have included some element of production.

    * Possess a strong background in logistics, inventory control and stock management systems.

    * Be experienced leading a team with a hands-on, lead by example management style.

    * Ideally, experience in managing projects, this may include warehouse site relocations or site layout change projects.

    * Excellent communication and organisation skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
