How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Design Manager will oversee the design and technical delivery of façade and cladding projects, ensuring they are safe, compliant, on programme and within budget.
    The role will coordinate consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, managing designs from pre-construction through to completion and ensuring high-quality, buildable solutions.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction to completion.
    * Coordinate consultants, façade specialists, subcontractors and internal teams.
    * Manage design programmes, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
    * Ensure designs comply with Building Regulations, fire safety requirements, client requirements and industry standards.
    * Identify and manage design risks, technical issues and opportunities for value engineering.
    * Review façade and cladding systems, technical details, certification and compliance documentation.
    * Coordinate interfaces between façades, structure, M&E and other building elements.
    * Lead design meetings and technical workshops.
    * Provide technical support to site teams during construction.
    * Support procurement, project handover and compliance documentation.
    * Support compliance with the Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations and Building Regulations.
    Person Specification
    * Experience delivering high-rise residential or complex construction projects.
    * Strong knowledge of façade, cladding and external envelope systems.
    * Understanding of Building Regulations, fire safety and Building Safety Act requirements.
    * Experience managing consultants, subcontractors and design information.
    * Strong ability to review drawings and resolve technical issues.
    * Understanding of BIM and design coordination processes.
    * AutoCAD, Revit or similar software experience desirable.
    * Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
    * Commercial awareness and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
