How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A new opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected packaging machinery manufacturer. This is a Field Service Engineer role ideal for someone with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills who enjoys working in a hands-on, customer-facing environment. You will be working on a range of technically advanced packaging machinery, supporting customers across the UK and Ireland.

    Salary £35,000 - £45,000 + Overtime + Company Car + Benefits

    Fully expensed company car
    Overtime paid at time and a half
    Double time on Sundays

    The Role

    Service, repair, install and commission a range of packaging machinery
    Travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland
    Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and diagnostics
    Perform planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support
    Work with automation, controls, electrical and pneumatic systems
    Provide technical support and guidance to customers on-site
    Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation
    Requirements

    Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills
    Experience within packaging machinery, automation, food processing or a similar capital equipment environment
    Confident fault finding and diagnosing technical issues
    Experience with PLCs, automation and control systems would be advantageous
    Able to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
    Proactive, professional and able to work independently on-site
