How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Applying engineering principles to support sustainable and low-carbon design

    • Delivering projects using BIM workflows

    • Completing mandatory health, safety, and compliance training

    • Applying AECOM standards, symbols, and design procedures

    Job Responsibilities

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery of building services projects from concept through to completion, working as part of a multidisciplinary team under the guidance of experienced engineers. You will gain hands-on experience in electrical design, technical coordination, project delivery, and site activities, while developing the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in building services engineering. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of sectors and project stages, with increasing responsibility as your experience and confidence grow.

    • Contributing to the technical design of electrical building services systems

    • Undertaking system load calculations and assisting with plant sizing

    • Supporting the coordination and sizing of plant rooms and distribution routes

    • Preparing technical reports appropriate to each design stage

    • Assisting in the development of technical specifications for selected systems and equipment

    • Evaluating technical options and documenting design decisions

    • Attending project meetings and workshops, learning through discussion and collaboration

    • Working with colleagues from other disciplines to broaden technical knowledge

    • Supporting the progression of designs through concept, developed, and detailed stages

    • Assisting with site inspections and monitoring installations during construction and commissioning

    • Gradually taking on increased responsibility for project delivery as your experience develops

    Qualifications

    • An accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

    • Degree accreditation by a relevant professional institution such as CIBSE, IET, or IMechE is preferred.

    • A strong interest in building services, sustainable design, and multidisciplinary project delivery.

    • Relevant industry experience through internships, placements, work experience, or project-based activities would be advantageous.

    • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM processes, or electrical design software would be beneficial but is not essential.

    • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

    • A proactive approach to learning and professional development, with an interest in working toward professional registration (e.g., IEng or CEng) in the future
