How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Futures are looking to appoint a motivated Production Supervisor to join our clients manufacturing team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of a designated production area.

As a Production Supervisor, you will lead by example, overseeing day-to-day production activities while motivating and developing your team to achieve operational targets. Working closely with the Production Manager and other departments, you will ensure production plans are delivered on time, quality standards are maintained, and continuous improvement remains at the heart of everything you do.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and motivate a team of production operatives, creating a positive, engaged, and high-performing working environment.
Ensure daily production plans are achieved by effectively allocating resources, monitoring performance, and responding quickly to operational challenges.
Maintain a safe working environment by promoting health and safety best practices, ensuring compliance with company policies, PPE requirements, and all relevant legislation.
Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring all products meet company and customer specifications while addressing any non-conformances promptly.
Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and manufacturing processes are consistently followed across the production team.
Identify production issues, investigate root causes, and implement effective corrective actions to minimise downtime and improve operational performance.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and enhance quality standards.
Monitor key production KPIs, including output, downtime, waste, and labour utilisation, taking proactive action to improve performance where required.
Conduct regular team briefings, communicate production priorities clearly, and ensure effective communication between shifts and departments.
Train, mentor, and develop team members, supporting onboarding, skills development, and succession planning.
Assist with employee performance management, including attendance management, return-to-work meetings, performance reviews, investigations, and disciplinary processes where appropriate.
Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Planning teams to ensure the smooth flow of production.
Maintain accurate production records and reports using company systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the production function.
    Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a Production Supervisor, Team Leader, Shift Supervisor, or similar leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong understanding of production processes, operational planning, and manufacturing best practices.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams to achieve challenging performance targets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proactive approach to resolving operational issues.
A positive, hands-on leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
