How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Blackburn, Lancashire (Hybrid - Office and Field based)

Are you a Mechanical Reliability / Rotating Equipment Engineer or similar looking to take the next step in your career with full training and development to become a Technical Specialist in Machinery Conditioning and Vibration analysis with a set progression plan in place including salary increases and promotion into Technical Management?

This is a rare opportunity to join an expanding International Engineering business who will invest heavily in your technical development, including industry-recognised vibration analysis training. You do not need to already be a fully qualified vibration specialist, provided you have a strong mechanical understanding of rotating machinery and fault finding.

You will spend your initial months receiving extensive product and technical training before gradually taking responsibility for customer sites across the UK. With an approved five-year growth plan and continued investment in the UK operation, there is significant scope to develop into increasingly senior technical positions, including longer-term progression towards Technical Manager.

    The Role:

Develop into a specialist in machinery condition monitoring and vibration analysis
Extensive initial onboarding, product and technical training
Accredited vibration analysis training aligned with ISO 18436
Analyse the condition and performance of industrial rotating machinery
Identify developing mechanical faults before equipment failure
Work with pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, fans, compressors and similar rotating equipment
Provide technical support and machinery health recommendations to customers
Visit industrial customer sites throughout the UK
UK-wide travel and overnight stays when required
Hybrid working between customer sites, home and the office
Increasing autonomy as your technical capability develops
    The Person:

Mechanical, Reliability, Maintenance, Service or Rotating Equipment Engineer
Strong understanding of industrial rotating machinery
Looking to develop into a Field-based Technical Support specialist
    Mechanical fault-finding experience
Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, fans, compressors or similar equipment
Condition monitoring, vibration analysis, thermography or predictive maintenance experience advantageous but not essential
Comfortable travelling throughout the UK and staying away when required
    The Benefits:

Salary flexible depending on experience and technical level
    Accredited technical training
    Progression plan into Management
Salary increases including after onboarding / training
Flexible working arrangements for appointments etc.
Development through vibration analysis certification levels
Growing UK operation with an approved five-year development plan
